If you have no satellite signal and you see this error on your screen, there are a few things you can do before calling us.
Firstly you need to be aware of the weather. In heavy wind, rain, snow or thunderstorms satellite signals can be disrupted. If your signal problems are being caused by bad weather you’ll unfortunately have to wait for the weather to improve. If, however, you experience disruption even in light rain then there are a number of options we can discuss with you.
While it may seem obvious, the next thing to do is turn your box on and off. The common error most people make here though, is to simply turn it on and off by the power button on the box or remote. This will not reset the box. You need to either remove the power cord or turn off the power at the wall, wait ten seconds and then turn it on again. The box can take up to two minutes to fully initialise again so don’t keep trying to turn it on repeatedly during this time, you may extend the restart process. If after this time you are still receiving the error message, take the next step.
If after taking these steps you haven’t been able to correct the issue, your next step is to take a look at your satellite dish. Is it pointing in the right direction and is the small box at the end of the arm (the LNB) attached? If your dish is damaged, misaligned or you have some other problem with your system it might be wise to call us. We’ll be happy to help.
