Spring 2018 digital retune

Spring 2018 Digital Retune

In November 2014 Ofcom made a decision to clear the 700MHz band for future mobile broadband services. This will require you to perform and digital retune.

On March 21st customers tuned to the Crystal Palace transmitter will temporarily lose a number of channels. These are going to be moved to a different frequency. The affected channels are on channel 33 and 35 and will move to channels 55 and 56. These are;

  • BBC Four HD
  • BBC News HD
  • CBeebies HD
  • Channel 4 +1 HD
  • 4seven HD
  • RT HD
  • 5USA +1
  • 5STAR +1
  • More 4 +1
  • Freesports
  • BT Showcase HD
  • VIVA
  • CBS Action +1
  • CBS Reality +1
  • Talking Pictures TV
  • Vintage TV
  • Keep It Country
  • Al Jazeera Eng HD
  • Rocks and Co
  • QVC HD
  • QVC Beauty HD

digital aerialThis affects Freeview, YouView, BT TV, EE, Plusnet and TalkTalk services.

For most of us, a simple retune of our television or receiver will be all that is required to get these channels back. However, Ofcom has stated that there will be a small number of aerials that will not be able to receive the new frequencies. These will require a replacement.

If you experience any difficulty with the retune, please don’t hesitate to drop us a line or give us a call. We will be more than happy to help over the phone wherever possible. For any further assistance, you can be sure of our usual prompt and cost-effective service.
